- Srinagar
(Day 126-127)
My plan to leave Srinagar is scuttled today by rain poring down on the lake. I move from breakfast in front of the big windows open to the lake to sitting on the railing on the side of the houseboat watching the lotus leaves fill up with rain, tip and pour the collected water out. The process was quite beautiful and I pulled out the camera and sat out in the rain trying to catch it while Yassim sat on the balcony chatting with me with and having a smoke. I should be embarrassed to express my sloth when I admit that we spent almost two and a half hours thus watching the rain, lotus and kingfishers but it was a wonderful way to pass a vacation day.
The next day was the same with rain closing the entire valley in and it was another day spent in the peace of the lake with a book in hand. Again, nothing interesting happened and that was in its own way a blessing.
