2003-09-13 - Kathmandu - Mugling (Day 151)

The plan is to drive to Pokhara to see a bit more of the country but that is not going to be an easy task. As I go to leave, I cannot find the key to the gas line. Two days before the key chain holding it had broken off and I was just looking at Noam's bike which had the ignition and gas keeps tied together thinking that was a good idea...but I didn't act on it and now mine was lost. Therefore, it is a taxi ride to Himalayan Enfielders to get a replacement fuel stop and the process of switching the old one in the front of the hotel, which was a messy process.

That finished we head out of town and make it 20 km before the rain starts pouring down. We tuck into a tea stall to wait out the rain but after two hours, it has almost waited me out. Again, its out into the rain and only another 20 kilometers pass under the wheels before its dark and the curfew forces us off the road into another roadside dump hotel. This one is only US$ 2.00 a night but like the one in Banbassa the bedbugs, no bathroom and rock hard plank for a bed have me ready to leave barely after it is so horrible that I am ready to leave barely after arriving.
