- Pokhara
(Day 154)
Today was the first clear day and I could finely see Machhapuchhare (Fishtail Mountain) towering over Pokhara with the wind forming a cloud and pulling snow off the leeward side just like you see on National Geographic Channel but which I'd never seen in person.
I take Peggy to the airport and seeing her off ride up behind the Peace Stupa to try to find a road up to the top so that if the sky ever does clear then I'll be able to go up for a picture over the lake and out onto the Himalayas. I find the road outside of town about 5 kilometers but it will be a tough ride up and I decide to leave that until a morning when I will actually be able to take a photo.
The afternoon starts a habit that will be the norm for the next few days; I sit down at my favorite restaurant in a window seat overlooking the lake and do math problems for the next few hours in preparation for the GMAT. While it is not very exciting stuff, I find doing such a tedious task in this peaceful environment without distractions much easier then if I'd been at home in Taiwan with the phone ringing, Internet always on, cable and Blockbuster, etc.
